Location: Ahmednagar, in Central Maharashtra, on the road between Pune and Aurangabad, is located about 300 km from Mumbai. Predominantly an agricultural district, Ahmednagar is a drought prone area and its maximum recorded levels have barely touched 20 cm of rain.

Description: The historic city was founded by Ahmed Nizam Shah and therefore it acquired the name of Ahmednagar. It was here that Emperor Aurangzeb died in 1707, aged 97. The town's imposing fort was erected in nearly 500 years ago. It was mostly under the Muslim rule till the British came and later was taken in the Indian nation.
